Welcome to the rant page... I talk about stuff that pisses me off... Yeah, I haven't updated this soapbox page in a while, well that's cause technically there's no one even able to read this page yet... but I suppose that shouldn't stop me... anyhow, I saw this commercial the other day for target using different lyrics but the song was "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot... it filled me horror to see such a provocative song being used to sell back to school supplies and clothing... granted kids at that age wouldn't and probably will never hear the original song... but still... Eh, Anyhow... I wonder what's wrong with people to accept that kind of commercial, it'll only be a matter of time before the activists come in and boycott target for using such a filthy song in there advertisements, and then you'll see the other side saying how they changed the lyrics, and the kids are too young to know the actual song... The whole thing will escalate as one of the picketers accidently smacks one of the employees trying to get through the lines and then slugs the guy, then a riot will break out as the store manager calls the police, while the one guy is beated sensless almost losing his life.. the cops'll come and the protesters will scatter leaving the place a scene of tear gas and riot gear and they arrest and shoot there rubber bullets... Afterwards they'll come to a negotiation of sorts and take down the commercials during morning hours and only air it during primetime and late night so the parents are able to monitor what their kids watch... but when do parents actually monitor what there kids watch.. and thus a new protest is formed... which causes everyone else to forget all about the target/baby got back stint to erase itself under the peoples' short attention spans...
